lately i have been really into dance and the beautiful lines dancers make. so i decided to create a few art prints using the idea of dancers and their bodies...i had fun with it~hope you like it folks~

when it comes to playing with patterns and colors...i dont think there is a better way to do it than this!

this is gorgeous and a stunning way to liven up a plain white wall-fab-

this could be a lot of red...but used in the correct amounts like a funky powder room this could be a wonderful way to add some texture to a wall.

can you imagine all the cool stories your child could come up with staring at the wall? talk about a fun punishment!

this is a really interesting idea...

this is just a pretty pattern and i l-o-v-e it! i think this would look great in a fun reading room or sun room!

lying around

lately i have been interested in rugs which are a little unusual due to texture, color, or design.

& i think this rug composed of 100% wool pressed into felt like consistencies and rolled into flower like petal design-a.k.a *fabulous* fits the bill!

i love the pop of color in this rug, what a wonderful focal point this can be. like i always say don't be afraid of color!

this rug is cut into very interesting shapes considering it is a wool rug-i love the tree cutouts-very playful.

not sure which piece takes the cake on this one....

reminds me of an art piece about to be hung on the wall-love it-very abstract in design

this is an absolutely stunning rug! this is a piece i would definitely use in a lobby of a hotel, or in a funky basement like bar with an underground jazz band playing in the corners...yea i dig it.

tis the season...almost

when i mention the holiday season to most people and design i usually get responses about warm colors, leaves, santa, red, trees...etc. all those are great, but i noticed no one ever really thinks of lavender and flowers! i urge you to go out on a limb this season, step out of your comfort zone for a bit and see what loveliness you can come with!

for all my readers out there who enjoy monochromatic spaces here is a fabulous "hotel" in barcelona,

"el palauet" these apartments are for rent to travelers for 3 days or more-gorgeous place but i would love to see a little color somewhere...

great common space to relax outdoors, i love the water element

i think it is interesting the space has colors favorable towards fastfood joints!

 this ladies and gentlemen is the "w" hotel in hong kong...need i say more! the "w" has done it again, another fun and interesting hotel to stay at!

 

 SHUTUP the rooftop pool is stunning! the graphics, the colors, the awesome pool grab bars...is all fabulous with a capital F!

 

my favorite element in this room besides the glowing ceiling treatment, the graphic on the ceiling, and the silver walls is that graphic rug, it works so well playing off the lines the window treatments make.

 

next we have the "dolder grand hotel" in zurich, this spa is phenomenal...love the curve in the ceiling and the shape of the space, the shape suggests femininity which works well with the purpose of this spa. the screens hanging in different patterns is lovely as well.

 

the graphic on the walls is wonderfully playful...

 

the red architecuture pillers are deliciously bold and divine! i love the lines they make in the ceiling and how it draws the eye up towards the heavens! the shag chic throws are fabulous with balancing out the drama in the space and adding softness.

i am super excited these items are out and ready to be bought! these are "framed items"  a wonderful and inventive way to showcase simple things in your world and make them the center of attention! a great way to show off some personal belongings which are really important to you...or just a fun place to keep your keys!

cute key ring option-you can even paint them another color to make them stand out more!

 

 a very cute way to hang a colorful book or vintage catalog, just be careful about weight and hanging items to close to anyone's head...not to feng shui

  

i want this for my home...i love the idea of showcasing flowers on the wall, this brings texture to walls, color and also brings the wonderful scent to nose level...couldn't you imagine a few of these going down a hallway?

 these are some beautiful prints i found by an artist i have been watching for awhile. she is totally fabulous and does gorgeous work leigh viner, is a wonderfully talented artist and incredibly creative...

the red on this print is bold and beautiful...this would make a wonderful statement piece in any room!

i went to san francisco and took some photos for a client of mine who is really into tea...i thought this set would be a great addition to her home! this started off as a small job, but she liked them so much, they became 36x24 inch prints on canvas hanging in her living room! 

she loves them and i had an awesome time shooting for her...plus i got to drink the tea when i was done!

i was perusing the internet looking for my favorite thing-wallpaper-and i found this awesome advertisement for a company premiering their new wall covering line. one of my favorites...decormaison! 

these mini homes are showcasing some of their prints and i totally want one, not just the print, but everything, the little house on wheels, the scenery-i'm talking the whole kit-n-caboodle-. i know i live in an apartment but i don't care...i will park it right out front in the grass!

are you stuck in a creative shelving rut?
this is an awesome idea to bring some fun interest into your life, you can find old desks from second hand stores, paint them, cut them in half and fix them to the wall. make sure you are hanging from studs in the walls and not in-between since the drywall might not hold the weight! for more how to contact me...happy friday folks

lost & found

i am very used to looking at maps while driving
around because i easily get lost...but that is neither here nor there,
maps are a great way to add visual interest into
a room and instantly make an impact.
you can find some great maps at vintage thrifts stores for low prices!

you can also make interesting and unique patterns out of old maps
like these bird cut outs. i have done something similar to this
only elephants and giraffes just glue your map to cardboard or mat board and cut with a sharp exact-o knife
be careful!

this is a beautiful map with tons of color, be careful where you
place this since it can easily compete with other strong patterns in a room.

if you have a map you really like but there is not enough color,
do not worry, just be adventurous and add your own color using
sharpie pens

one of my favorite kind of maps are topography maps, i love
the detail, color, and intricate areas.
these look great cut into multiple same size cuts, mat and frame and
viola...you have a unique piece of art!

i really enjoy white and turquoise pieces of furniture! if you do a piece of furniture in white, this is the perfect way to make it a statement piece!

this canvas in this bedroom adds a brilliant pop of color and adding this pillow with the architecture on it or this chair with this princess sitting pretty would add perfect character!

this is a luxurious bedroom! i want to run in and dive into the pillows! i love the canvas added over the bed...once again adding unique character!

i love pillows and i love these pillows, don't you agree?

this is a modern bath by design. lovely lines, lovely space and this canvas print, even showing an aerial view of vertical architecture adds a horizontal harmony to the space.

here is a design concept i put together as an example of items which can
be used in a small space to give it some whimsical personality.
go with items with lots of detail (which speaks to you) in order to relax in
your personal environment which will be comfortable for you and also stylish!
and remember, just have fun with it!

these place mats are so adorable!
i wouldn't mind having these on my table for a
nice brunch date with friends and family...my only concern would be the pop up images being in the way of reaching for drinks and giving toasts!

im all for design liberty and thinking outside the box...but as i say this playground oddity is inventive, does anyone else find this larger-than-life-fire-ant a little disturbing???

the best design element to me are these lovely over scaled
wire birdcages with 2d chandeliers inside. the color palette is soothing,
i can see myself lounging here...

the green grass on the walls is reminiscent of my thesis in college, i love the idea and the texture it
adds to the wall!
...plus i am just crazy about the pink wire pig...

this buffet style table is fabulous and really brings another level to eating out
the red chairs add a upscale flavor and mingle with the wonderful oversize rooster
on the walls...don't think i could eat chicken in here though!

the view here is stunning, i would love to sit out here at sunset, get comfy with those
pillows and drink a virgin rita...yes i said it "virgin"

of course we need to end with dessert...
i never thought anything would ever take my attention away from
chocolate cake, but this chandelier is totally over the top fierce!
almost looks like blown sugar cylinders...yum!
